The birth of Cosmo's Magic Theater

In 2015 Cosmo built a small 10 seat theater in his home and called it The Close Up Room. He spent months writing a full  eveing “close up” magic show and invited clients and friends. Intended to be a creative outlet where he could present formal eveing show every month or two, it quickly sold out and became a weekly event for almost 3 years. This little “experiment” evolved into Cosmo’s Magic Theater!

Cosmo Solano was first bitten by the show biz bug when he performed a trick for “show and tell” in Mrs. Muckle’s kindergarten class.  His first paid performance at the age of 13 earned him $15.00 to perform at a backyard barbecue and and was the start of his teenage magic career.

At 19, he headed to Los Angeles, and laternstudied classic stage magic at the prestigious Chavez College of Magic in Los Angeles, but his love for performing “close up magic”, soon overshadowed his desire to be a stage magician and he become one of the busiest private event magicians in Los Angeles.

“I wasn’t thinking about fame or fortune, I was focused on my next meal! I lived in my car for almost three months. For the first couple of years, I worked regular jobs during the day and performed magic evenings and weekends.

After nearly two decades as a full time magician in L.A., Cosmo and his wife Carrie, returned home to Colorado so raise their family.

Cosmo is also a prolific creator of magic props, effects and collectible playing cards. He also writes, lectures, consults and teaches magic to other professional performers.

2014 / Hollywood's Magic Castle to showcase Japanese magic, May 19-25 –  Japanese Art & Culture in LAAs a child, Cosmo dreamed of becoming a member of the world famous Hollywood Magic Castle. At 21, he auditioned, and that dream came true. Over the next two decades he would be mentored by contemporary masters in sleight of hand.
